Happy New Year!

Tteokguk (rice cake soup) is a traditional New Year's Day dish in Korea. Koreans offer tteokguk to their ancestors on New Year's Day and eat with family members.

Koreans believe that people grow one year older only after they have eaten a bowl of rice cake soup on New Year’s. Thus, the question “How many bowls of rice cake soup have you eaten?” to a Korean means “How old are you?”

I wish you lots of creative energy and inspiration in the new year!
