Smart way of gift wraps Bojagi
2013.03.02
When I have a gift card to give, I always think about how I can wrap it since it's so small. Also think about wasting paper. Here's a good idea. Bojagi can be used over and over again.
You can wrap the card with this bojagi and person who gets this gift can reuse this bojagi for the same purpose.

2016.05.09
This is a tiny knot figure to decorate or hold layers together.
So it has a practical use as well as decorative function.
Bat sounds same as good luck in Korea. Using lots of bat figures, people wish for good luck.
Unlike western culture, bat is actually one of the good luck symbols in Asian culture.
Here's how to make this good luck bat.

I love your blog! I was so happy to find this, was trying to make these bats in a bojagi class today in Insadong--could not roll the fabric tightly around the pin. I will keep trying! How is your bike riding going? How many miles do you ride? We are planning a bicycle trip with our 8 year old son from Seoul to Pusan (or Busan)...Lots of training ahead!! Thank you for your blog, it is wonderful!!

Hi Sonya,
Thank you for finding me! I am happy to be connected with people like Bojagi.
Bakji needs a little bit of practice to make so practice rolling fabric with a pin.
In some point, you will feel tightly roll fabric in between your fingers :)
Bike riding goes well! Last week, I rode 25 mile and this Saturday's ride will be 30 mile.
We increase gradually up to 62 (metric century) for the ride in April.

Thank you for the bat knot instructions. I want to try and sew them.
We are learning about the culture of Korea in my elementary school and part of their study is to learn about Bojagi. They have enjoyed your You Tube video on different kinds of Bojagi. I wish they could sew a small one but we have created a paper Bogaji instead. -
Hi BeeLee! It is great to hear that you were learning about Korean culture and Bojagi in your elementary school. And thank you foe your kind words! Next time, try to sew and make bojagi. If you need more information about teaching young kids, let me know. I taught from K to 8th grade students in SF and they made wonderful bojagi!

Lotus Leaf again Bojagi
2013.03.02
I finally finished this project. I wish I can concentrate in one project at a time but sometimes I lost in many on going projects. I made 10 lotus leaves for place mats. 10 napkins have matching lotus bud napkin rings.
