Hello from sunny California!Last summer, I was asked to make two window panels for a home in New York. The scale was quite large, and working on 64” × 103” panels with my domestic sewing machine wasn’t easy (yes, I do sometimes work with a sewing machine). A project of this size required a clear design plan. Since my work is often created through an improvisational process, this was a real challenge—especially with a tight production schedule. After many weeks, I was finally able to complete the two panels. I hope this family enjoys living with my work. QuiltCon this year was held in Raleigh, and once again I had a wonderful time meeting both new and familiar faces, teaching workshops, and seeing so many inspiring quilts. A small KTT reunion was especially fun, and I was happy to spend time with this year’s participant. After returning from QuiltCon 2026, the very first thing I did was clean my workspace so I could sit down quietly and reconnect with some unfinished pieces. March will be my non-travel month, and I’m grateful for the chance to recharge before the upcoming events. The Korea Textile Tour filled up very quickly this year, which brought mixed feelings. I was deeply touched by how many of you expressed interest in exploring Korea with me, but I can only host ten people at a time. I hope I’ll be able to welcome more of you next year. I’ve updated my website, and you may notice a change in the style of my newsletter as well. Building a new website and migrating everything from the old platform to the new one was a big project.
