Greetings from California

다녀왔습니다~

During my stay in Korea, I was busy taking care of my mom and leading two tours. It’s been two weeks since I returned from Korea, and I’ve been trying to rest and take care of myself. Reading has been a wonderful way to relax my body- especially hands- and to nurture my soul.

During my Korea Textile Tour, a few participants asked me about Korean books translated into English. Kyung-Sook Shin is one of my favorite authors, and I just borrowed her book, Please Look After Mom. I read it years ago, but decided to revisit it. If you read this book, I would really love to hear how you liked it.

In December, I’ll be offering a “Gift Envelope” project that I got from the master teacher of the Chaedamjung studio in Daegu, South Korea. The kit includes naturally dyed materials from her studio, and you can watch the tutorial video on YouTube. I will also have a live Zoom session so you can ask questions.

Zoom session: Saturday, December 13 at 10:00-11:00 AM Pacific Time.

I have 10 kits available, and you can order them from here.
The cost is $60 USD, including shipping (U.S. shipping only).

In 2026, I plan to offer more “Project of the month” kits from Chaedamjung- so stay tuned!

With gratitude,
Youngmin
