Starting 2025 in Korea has been a good experience, and living in a small, temporary apartment has given me the opportunity to reflect on a simpler life. I've managed my daily routine with minimal equipment, which has made me rethink the material-packed garage waiting for me in California. Now, I'm considering how to make the best use of my accumulated fabrics and other materials in my future creative process.
2025년 새해를 서울의 작은 임시아파트에서 시작하면서 보다 단순한 삶에 대해서 생각할 기회가 있었습니다. 최소한의 물건들로 일상을 꾸려가면서, 캘리포니아 집 차고에 가득한 재료들과 옷감을 떠올리게 되었습니다. 올해에는 아마도 있는 재료 활용이 제 창작의 방향이 될 것 같습니다.
An update on my husband—he’s doing much better, and we plan to fly back home in mid-February. Thank you again for your warm and kind wishes!
제 남편은 잘 회복하고 있고 2월 중순 귀가를 목표로 하고 있습니다. 그동안 응원해주셔서 고맙습니다!

Purls and Knits are still going on
Even after knitting many ornaments for the holidays, I was still in the mood to knit. So, I chose this cool but very easy pattern from PetiteKnit and made several 'Sophie Scarf'. Now, they are keeping my family and friends' necks warm and cozy!
크리스마스 장식 뜨개질을 하고나서도 한동안 바늘을 내려 놓을수 없어서 간단하지만 아주 따스한 '소피 스카프'를 떠서 가족과 친구들에게 나눠줬습니다. 추운 한국의 겨울동안 따스한 온기를 나누고 싶었지요.

Blue Gold Exhibition
Mingei International Museum
Last year, I was honored to be a part of the Mingei International Museum's Blue Gold: The Art and Science of Indigo exhibition curated by Emily Hanna, Guusje Sanders, and Barbara Hanson Forsyth. My work, Dawn in not only a part of this exhibit but also acquired as the museum collection. The Mingei International Museum recently published a digital catalog and I'd love th share the link with you. If you are interested in indigo, this will be a wonderful resource to deepen your knowledge.

Korea Textile Tour 2025
When I opened the registration link for my tour interest list group, the tour filled in just three minutes. As I hesitated to closed the link, ten more people submitted their forms, leading me to offer an additional tour in November. Ultimately, both tours were filled within the first ten minutes.
I decided to call this group The Furious Fingers! This experience gave me mixed feelings. I am thrilled that my tour is popular, but at the same time, I know it left many people disappointed. Unfortunately, I can't increase the number of participants or offer multiple tours throughout the year.
However, I will continue to offer the tour as long as I can, and hope you'll have a chance to joine me in the future.

지난 1월에 2025 한국 텍스타일 투어 등록을 받는날 10자리가 3분만에 매진이 되고 깜짝 놀란 제가 등록링크를 닫는 동안 10명이 더 등록서류 작성을 하는 일이 발생했습니다. 감사한 마음과 미안한 마음이 함꼐 들어 결국 투어를 한 번 더 진행하기로 했습니다. 시작한지 10분만에 등록마감을 한 올해 투어는 번개같이 클릭한 20명과 함께할 것 같습니다.저와 같이 한국 여행을 원하는 모든 분들과 함께 할 수는 없겠지만 그래도 계속 여행기획을 하도록 하겠습니다. 투어 관심 리스트에 포함되기를 원하시면 이메일 주세요.
