Youngmin's January Newsletter  Happy New Year!
January 2022!
View this email in your browser
I wrote my first newsletter back in December 2016. I started it because I wanted to communicate with you all and share what I am passionate about. Bojagi, workshop info, Korea Textile Tour, books about Korea and culture, Korean food, and more.
Writing something in English always makes me feel butterflies in my stomach. I've been living in the US for 25 years so this can't be my excuse anymore. But I admit that I still take a deep breath before I start to write a newsletter. You all encouraged me to keep writing and I often received warm replies from you. I want to celebrate my 5 years of communicating with you and my sincere thanks to you all!

I wish you a joyous and creative new year!

Let's all have a creative year together!

The Stitch Sampler Book workshop is FULL now.
This is a book-making class that includes basic and essential stitches to make bojagi.
I will offer more sessions sometime soon.
Thank you!

Gong gi (공기놀이)  When I was young, I used to play gonggi with my sister, brother, and my mom. Gather 5 small round shape pebbles, toss and pick them up 1 at a time, 2 at a time, 3 at a time, 4 at a time, etc...
I made 5 gong gi using maedeup technique. In Korean, this technique is called 공매듭 (ball) or 방울매듭 (bell). It also is called Monkey's fist in English. I posted how-to video on my YouTube channel.
