The May 2024 Korea Textile Tour went well! Twelve textile enthusiasts (including me) explored Seoul, Gwangju, and Naju, visiting many places. Many thanks to the participants! And my heartfelt appreciation goes to the masters and artists we visited during the tour. Without these kind and generous people, I couldn't have made this tour possible.
The collaboration with Making Zen Online Retreat also went well. I shared how to make Barbara's Boat, a 3D Jogakbo Coaster, as part of the retreat. Kate, thanks for inviting me again to this wonderful community of makers!
The other day, I received an advance copy of my book and I was so happy! The book will be available on July 18th in the UK and on September 17th in the US. If you want a signed copy, you can pre-order from my website. Many thanks to those of you who have already made an order! Your support and love means so much to me! PRE-ORDER HERE
Since my book will be released first in the UK in July, I decided to teach at the Festival of Quilts in Birmingham UK. I will be teaching some new classes based on the some of the projects in my book. If you can come to the FOQ, please join me!
My friend, Hee Hwa Jo, a Korean embroidery artist, will be participating in the Homo Faber 2024 exhibition in Venice, Italy. If you have a chance to travel to Venice this summer, check it out and say hi to her work and the works of other embroidery artists!
I've been staying in beautiful Jeju, scouting for future tour programs and recovering from the busyness of the May tour. It's wonderful to have a relaxing time with good company before returning to busy life. Have a wonderful month, and I will see you soon!
