Saeksilnubi Gongbang workshop with the master, Kim Yun Sun
I packed and left home on September 30th, and my adventure still isn't over! Th nine participants and my KTT team (Joy, Sung yeon, and myself) had a fabulous time during the Korea Textile Tour in October 2024. Our days were full and busy with workshops, studio visits, exhibitions, train ride to Naju to learn about Korean indigo tradition, and delicious foods. Planning and leading this tour requires a lot of time and effort, but the smile of my participants make me happy and make all my work worthwhile.
After the tour, I participated in the Quilt Festival in Korea (QFIK) and showcased an exhibit I curated, titled 'Homage to Bojagi'. The exhibit featured works by Adam Pogue, Caitlin Parker, Miran Lee, Maryse Allard, and Sara Cook, and along with a few of my own pieces. I had a great time meeting many visitors and discussing each artists's creative process. Many of attendees came to see bojagi works from different culture and countries. Many thanks to the Quilt Festival in Korea for inviting my exhibit, Homage to Bojagi, this year!
Due to personal reasons, I will be staying a bit longer in Korea. The Korea Textile Tour 2025 dates will be announced in January 2025, and I will keep you posted as soon as possible. Thank you for understanding!
